During the autumn and winter months, one of our favorite ways to add a bit of savory flavor and a touch of crunchy texture to a dish is our Gourmet Fried Onion Pieces, which you might be most familiar with for their role in a classic green bean casserole. Of course, we certainly dont stop enjoying adding savory flavor and crunchy texture to dishes during the rest of the year. Thats where Trader Joes Crispy Jalapeo Pieces come in. Available in our stores all year round, these captivatingly Crispy bits provide some satisfying savoriness and crunch to anything theyre added to, as well as a nice, even level of Jalapeo heat.

These crisps are made for us by a supplier in Thailand, who thinly slices and lightly batters Jalapeo peppers, then fries them to a crisp, golden brown. Just like their onion-based counterparts, we find that these Crispy Jalapeo Pieces are particularly great for adding texture to casseroles and bakes (just think of a Jalapeo- powered green bean casserole or baked mac & cheese!), but thats hardly where wed stop. We recommend using them as a topping for salad, sandwiches, hot dogs, rice bowls, roasted veggies, egg scrambles, shepherds pieyou name it! And if youre not necessarily in a cooking mood, they also make an excellent snack, right out of the pouch.
